Welcome to the start of an amazing week in the State Combined Campaign! This week is full of opportunities to engage with your coworkers about the SCC and encourage their participation, so let’s lean into those opportunities.
Where Are We At?
Giving slowed quite a bit in Week 4, but I’m confident we can pick the momentum back up this week. As of this morning, the Week 4 total brought the campaign to $138,066.52 from 882 contributors.
Compared to last year’s report, our average contribution amount has increased while participation has decreased. While this sounds grim, it actually is a silver-lining and a challenge to keep pushing! If the average donation has increased, then we’re positioning ourselves well to exceed last year’s campaign total of $865,000 if we keep encouraging stellar participation.
So, talk up the campaign and let’s get those pledge cards submitted!

Each of our partnering charities make a huge difference in the lives of Alabama citizens day-in and day-out… it’s why we love them so much and go above and beyond in supporting them! This week, I want to highlight the Alabama Kidney Foundation, which exists to serve the kidney patients of Alabama through financial assistance, education and support services. The Foundation also provides statewide education to promote organ donation awareness and prevention of kidney disease.
Earlier this year, the Alabama Kidney Foundation was able to provide valuable services to David Neal during his dialysis treatment. Reflecting on this help, David wrote…
“I was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease in February of 2024. This caused me to be hospitalized and shortly thereafter, begin dialysis. Because of this, I missed several weeks of work and the bills were really starting to add up. I requested help from the Alabama Kidney Foundation with a power bill, and thankfully, my application was approved, and they were able to assist me. This was extremely helpful for me because I dialyze at home. Without the assistance of AKF, I wouldn’t have been able to continue my dialysis in my own home.”
Charities like the Alabama Kidney Foundation help people all across the state of Alabama to continue living normal lives despite the challenges they face. Let’s enable them to continue in that hope-filled work!
